A very warm welcome.

If you have found your way here, maybe something has changed lately. Sleep is not what it used to be. Your mood shifts without warning. Your body responds differently to things that always worked. Or maybe none of that: you simply want to prepare, understand and live the years ahead well.

Either way, this space is for you.

Why Ella Plena exists

Ella Plena was born at home.

For 15 years I have walked closely alongside the woman I love. I saw the challenges of motherhood, of balancing work, home and family, of caring for everyone and almost never for herself. In recent years I started noticing other changes: restless nights, tiredness that would not lift, days when she did not recognize herself. Often, she thought it was her fault.

When we went looking for answers, we found two extremes: medical texts that were hard to follow, or miracle promises with nothing behind them. Something in the middle was missing. A place that explains things clearly, shares what science actually knows, and remembers that there is a real woman on the other side of the screen.

This stage is not the beginning of the end. For many women, it is the beginning of a life lived with more intention.

Talking with health professionals and with women living through this stage, we heard one thing again and again: beyond the challenges, there is also an awakening. More maturity, more clarity about what matters, a stronger wish to live fully. That is the side Ella Plena wants to stand on.

What you will find here

Trustworthy information. Articles about the body and health are built on recognized sources such as the World Health Organization, public health services and scientific studies. Every source is listed at the end, and every article shows when it was last updated.

Real stories. Accounts from women who chose to share what they lived through: what helped, what did not, what they wish they had known sooner. Some come from scientific studies published under open licenses. Others are sent in by readers, always with consent.

Wellbeing for the whole of life. Life after 40 is much more than symptoms. Here we also talk about relationships, self-worth, purpose, work, family, friendship and spirituality.

A space for the people beside her. Partners, children and friends often do not understand what is happening either. That is why we have a section for partners.

What Ella Plena is not

We are not doctors and we do not give medical advice. We do not recommend medicines, doses or treatments, and we do not promise cures.

The stories you will read are personal experiences. What worked for one woman may not be the right path for another. For decisions about your health, the best person is always a professional who knows you.

Our role is different: to help you understand what you are going through, feel less alone and arrive at your appointment with better questions.

A safe space

There is no judgment here. It does not matter whether you are 42 or 68, at the height of your career or starting over, married, separated or single by choice. It does not matter whether your symptoms are strong or barely there.

There is no rush either. Read at your own pace, and come back whenever you like.

Where to start

Thank you for being here.
